Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on 16 March 1984 in Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's top-rated and popular comedians. She was on QI, alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea, is a popular Irish comedian and actress from Ireland. After playing bits in several Irish and British television shows since 2009 Bea started her stand-up comedian in 2011. Bea began performing regularly on sketch comedy and sitcoms in 2012. After she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) in 2012, she began appearing regularly in various panel programs. She has been a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats since the year 2016 and is an extremely popular contestant on the spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The actress is the child of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her sister, was also born. She was the winner of the So You Believe You're Funny Award twice. Bea Her maiden name, which is her birth name, was a tribute to her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet who committed suicide after Bea reached the age of three, was a victim of self-harm. Bea was informed of his suicide only after the age of thirteen. Her stage name Bea was a tribute for her father. She wrote an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience of suicide. Bea as well as her younger sister Sinead, were raised by Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) an ex-jockey as well as a teacher at a secondary school. Her family were fascinated by horses and race meetings. Bea began her career as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud. However Bea realized at an early age that racing was not for her.
